Our Suggested Itinerary - Explore a past Aujo Travel trip for your next adventure
Day 1: London
Upon landing, we'll transfer to London for accommodation and free time in one of the most vibrant cities in the world.
Day 2: London - Salisbury
This morning, we'll take a train from central London to the town of Salisbury. We'll wander a bit in the old city and the beautiful market and dedicate time to visit the famous cathedral of the city. From here, we'll continue our journey to Stonehenge, one of the must-visit sites in the UK. We'll stand in awe facing the standing stones and try to imagine how the massive stones were transported from miles away and to answer the more interesting question: how were they raised and formed into a gate? After the tour of Stonehenge, we'll return to Salisbury for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 3: Salisbury - Corfe Castle - Chagford
This morning we'll leave Salisbury, not before visiting the magnificent cathedral of the city. From here, we'll head south along the countryside areas of Dorset, and on our way south, we'll visit Corfe Castle, one of the oldest castles in the world built of stone and managed to survive until this day. From here, we'll continue on a picturesque drive along the Jurassic Coast and witness a number of fascinating geological phenomena dating back over 185 million years. We'll stop for lunch in the area of Lulworth Cove, known for its numerous coves in the area and the unique folklore of the region. Our final stop of the day will be in the town of Chagford, located near the Dartmoor Nature Reserve, where we'll spend the next two nights.
Day 4: Dartmoor Nature Reserve
Today we'll explore one of the most beautiful nature reserves in the area, a short drive will take us to the unique park of the Dartmoor Nature Reserve where we'll see the magnificent views of the area rich in green forests, large boulders, and unique stone bridges. We'll get to know the unique nature and learn about the special landscape pattern through fascinating British literature inspired by the unique landscapes of the nature reserve. After a day of tours, we'll return to our hotel in Chagford for overnight stay and dinner.
Day 5: Towards Cornwall Along the Coast
Today we'll travel towards Cornwall, a journey known worldwide for its dramatic beauty, the cliffs plunging into the sea, and the fishing villages scattered along the way. On our way east, we'll stop at a family-owned brewery that has been brewing beer for over 150 years. After free time for lunch, we'll continue our journey to the Cornwall area and enjoy the special beauty of the Penwith Peninsula. We'll end our day in one of the coastal towns where we'll spend the next three nights.
Day 6: Exploring the Penwith Peninsula
Today we'll dedicate this tour day to getting to know the Penwith Peninsula, home to many unique and special fishing villages, cliffs plunging into the sea, and breathtaking scenery. We'll start with a visit to the unique Minack Theatre, a theater where the seats are carved into the special stone carved in the area. From here we'll continue to an area where neolithic ruins remain fascinating and provide free time in one of the beautiful fishing villages along the peninsula to wander through the shops and get to know the special way of life of the area.
Day 7: Chysauster Ancient Village - St Ives
This morning we'll visit the historic ruins of Chysauster, one of the oldest relics in Cornwall, also known as "The Court". From here we'll continue to get to know one of the famous features of the cuisine of Cornwall County: the pasty pastry, we'll try to learn how the special pastries are made in the area. We'll continue from here on a drive to the beautiful town of St Ives, where we'll be impressed by the special beauty of the old town, browse through several local galleries, and enjoy free time where we can indulge in a pint in one of the benches in town. In the evening we'll return to our accommodation.
Day 8: Tintagel Castle - Bath
This morning we'll bid farewell to the picturesque town where we spent the last three nights and depart on a northward journey to the ruins of Tintagel Castle, which is linked to the life and work of King Arthur. From here we'll continue driving to the town of Bath (a wonderful place to extend our vacation in England and rest in), after we get to know the special beauty of the old city, we'll explore a number of local galleries and enjoy free time where we can indulge in a pint in one of the benches in town. Towards evening we'll return to our accommodation.
Day 9: Bath - London
This morning we'll enjoy free time to enjoy the special warm baths of the town of Bath and towards noon we'll depart from the countryside area of England on a northward train ride to the larger shore of London where we'll spend the night.
Day 10: London
A free day for leisure in London, according to the flight time, we'll head together to the airport for the return flight.
