Day 1 | Hanoi
In the evening, after landing at Hanoi's airport, we will go through entry procedures, meet the local guidance team, and embark on an enjoyable tour of Hanoi's Old Quarter. After the tour, we will have a local dinner and then transfer to our hotel in the city center for acclimatization and rest, preparing for our Asian adventure.
Day 2 | Hanoi
Good morning, Vietnam! After breakfast, we will begin a guided tour that takes us to some of the most important and interesting sites in the captivating and mysterious city of Hanoi. Our journey will start at the unique complex dedicated to the revered leader of Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh, including the Mausoleum and Ho Chi Minh's residence. We will be impressed by the Presidential Palace and the "One Pillar Pagoda," a beautiful structure built in the shape of a lotus flower. Continuing our exploration, we will visit the Van Mieu Temple, which was built in the 11th century and served as Vietnam's first university. From there, we will proceed to the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple. After the tour, we will head to the beautiful West Lake and visit the Tran Quoc Pagoda, one of the oldest Buddhist pagodas in Vietnam. In the evening, we will return to our hotel in Hanoi for overnight stay.
Day 3 | Halong Bay - Hanoi
This morning, we will embark on a journey to Halong Bay, one of the most beautiful and famous natural wonders in Vietnam. After a few hours of driving through picturesque landscapes, we will reach Halong Bay and board a traditional wooden junk for a memorable cruise. During the cruise, we will be surrounded by stunning karst limestone formations and emerald waters, exploring caves, and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. We will have a seafood lunch on the boat. In the afternoon, we will return to Hanoi and spend the night.
Day 4 | Hanoi - Sapa
After breakfast, we will start our journey north to the mountainous region of Sapa, known for its breathtaking landscapes and vibrant ethnic minority communities. The drive will take us through picturesque valleys, terraced rice fields, and charming villages. In the afternoon, we will arrive in Sapa, check into our hotel, and have some time to rest. In the evening, we will explore the local markets and streets, experiencing the unique atmosphere of this mountain town.
Day 5 | Sapa - Lao Cai - Bac Ha
This morning, we will set out on a trekking adventure to visit the villages of the Black Hmong ethnic minority, such as Lao Chai and Ta Van. We will learn about their traditional way of life, see the terraced rice fields, and enjoy the stunning scenery. In the afternoon, we will drive to Bac Ha, a small town famous for its colorful Sunday market. We will spend the night in Bac Ha, ready to explore the vibrant market the next day.
Day 6 | Bac Ha - Lao Cai - Hanoi
Today is dedicated to experiencing the unique Bac Ha Sunday market, where various ethnic minority groups gather to buy and sell their products. We will witness the lively atmosphere, vibrant colors, and diverse products on display. After exploring the market, we will visit the Hoang A Tuong Palace, a French colonial-style mansion that reflects the history and culture of the Tay people. In the afternoon, we will return to Lao Cai and take an overnight train back to Hanoi.
Day 7 | Hanoi - Hue
Upon our arrival in Hanoi, we will transfer to the airport for a flight to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam. In Hue, we will explore the Imperial City, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which served as the political, cultural, and religious center of the Nguyen Dynasty. We will visit the Imperial Citadel, the Forbidden Purple City, and the Thien Mu Pagoda, an iconic symbol of Hue. In the evening, we will take a boat cruise on the Perfume River, enjoying the serene atmosphere and beautiful scenery. We will spend the night in Hue.
Day 8 | Hue - Hoi An
This morning, we will visit the Tu Duc Tomb, a royal mausoleum surrounded by beautiful gardens and lakes. We will also explore the vibrant Dong Ba Market, where we can experience the local way of life and sample delicious Hue cuisine. In the afternoon, we will drive to Hoi An, another UNESCO-listed town known for its well-preserved ancient architecture. Upon arrival, we will check into our hotel and have some free time to explore Hoi An's charming streets. In the evening, we will enjoy a lantern-lit walking tour of the Old Town, creating a magical atmosphere.
Day 9 | Hoi An - My Son - Hoi An
Today, we will embark on a half-day excursion to the ancient Cham ruins of My Son, another UNESCO World Heritage Site. My Son was a significant center of religious worship for the Cham civilization, and the temples and towers that remain offer a glimpse into the rich history of this ancient kingdom. We will return to Hoi An in the afternoon, and the rest of the day will be free for leisure or optional activities. We can explore the local markets, indulge in Hoi An's delicious street food, or simply relax by the beach. Overnight in Hoi An.
Day 10 I Huế - Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon)
This morning, we will continue to explore the imperial city of Huế and wander through the picturesque streets of the city. According to the flight schedule, we will travel to the airport near the city and fly to Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). This is the most modern city in Vietnam, yet remnants of its colonial past under French rule can still be seen on its streets (the flight may have an intermediate destination).
Day 11 I Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City
In the morning, we will head towards the Mekong Delta through picturesque villages, flooded rice fields, and bustling markets. We will cruise on the Mekong River and navigate through its narrow tributaries, surrounded by mangrove vegetation. Passing through the floating market of Cai Be, we will visit various local workshops for rice paper and sweets production and witness the orchards with tropical fruit trees along the riverbank. Enjoying the tropical fruits, we will conclude the cruise in Vinh Long City and return to Ho Chi Minh City for the night. Dinner and overnight stay in Ho Chi Minh City.
Day 12 I Ho Chi Minh City – Siem Reap
After breakfast, we will explore more of the colonial city: visit Notre-Dame Cathedral (under renovations), the Central Post Office building, the War Remnants Museum, the market, and more. In the afternoon, we will head to Ho Chi Minh City Airport and fly to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, we will have dinner and overnight accommodation in Siem Reap.
Day 13 I Siem Reap
We will spend the Queen's Saturday in the city of Siem Reap, located near the Angkor Wat temples, one of the wonders of the new world. During the day, we will learn about the history of the Angkor Wat temples through a visit to the new museum in the heart of the city, narrating the story of these marvelous temples. After the tours, we will take a boat trip on the Tonle Sap Lake, passing through unique floating villages, and enjoy a special sunset view in one of them.
Day 14 I Wonders of Angkor Wat
This morning, we will embark on a day of exploration of the Angkor Wat temples. These temples symbolize the glory and power of Cambodia between the 9th and 13th centuries. The structures showcase magnificent architecture with sculptures and reliefs that serve as impressive works of art and essential sources of information about daily life during that period. We will visit the South Gate, the Bayon Temple with its many smiling faces, the Elephant Terrace, the Royal Enclosure, and explore one of the highlights of the area - Ta Prohm Temple, covered by jungle as discovered by archaeologists. At the end of the day, we will witness a sunset above one of the temples.
