Within the geographical depth of our journey to India, we embark on a fascinating voyage where all senses will be activated, an experience that is hard to remain indifferent to. So many people exist in this land, and the cultural diversity is endless - the sounds of the tabla and sitar, massive markets, splendid temples representing various religions, large cities alongside small villages, the impressive nature of the Himalayas, the scents of spices, and the kosher Indian cuisine (yes, that's not a mistake). You are invited to a captivating journey that combines thousands of years of unique history. A special journey where we will laugh, immerse ourselves, be excited, indulge, get tired, and at the end of each day, reach the hotel for a shower and a warm meal, also exposing ourselves to the delightful Indian hospitality.

 Our Suggested Itinerary - Explore a past Aujo Travel trip for your next adventure

Days 1 I Srinagar (Kashmir)

Upon arrival in Srinagar, we will transfer to our special accommodation - the houseboats located in the stunning Dal Lake, adorned with a unique design style. During the tour days in Kashmir, we will also embark on tours by Shikara, a traditional wooden boat used for transportation that allows entry into narrower waterways. After relaxing and recovering from the long journey that brought us to India, we will go for an initial tour of the welcoming town and the picturesque lake where we will navigate in the coming tour days. If time and physical strength allow, we will stop to visit the Nehru Park, the unique park that includes green areas, hot springs, and a magnificent botanical garden. Overnight stay and dinner on the houseboat.


Day 2 I Kashmir – Pahalgam Valley – Martand Temple – Walking Tours in Lidder Valley

Today we will get to know the beautiful Pahalgam Valley located at the foot of the mountains. On our way to the valley, we will visit the impressive Martand Temple, getting acquainted with the religious culture of the residents of Kashmir and trying to understand the political disputes surrounding this region. When we arrive at Lidder Valley, we will explore the forests of Kashmir. We will also visit the beautiful local markets in the area, walk among the old market stalls, and enjoy the local art. Overnight stay and dinner on the houseboat.


Day 3 I Gulmarg and Surroundings

This day will be dedicated to a tour in the most amazing mountain town in Kashmir, also known as "The Pearl of the Mountains" - Gulmarg. Here, we will board small gondolas and sail between the different levels that make up the amazing town. Those interested can also take a memorable walking route among the picturesque villages in the area or ride horses. After this special day of tours in the beautiful region of Kashmir, we will stay for our last night and dinner on the houseboat.


Day 4 I Gulmarg – Srinagar

Our last day in the Kashmir journey will begin with a short walk in the wonderful mountainous area of Kashmir. From here, we will return to our houseboat and sail to the important center of Kashmir around noon, boarding a flight that will take us to the next station in the journey: Udaipur. After landing in Udaipur, the modern capital of Rajasthan, from where we will begin the second part of our journey, after we managed to get to know the wonderful Kashmir region, the enchanting region of Rajasthan. After landing in Udaipur, we will gather at the well-known hotel on the outskirts of the city to continue the journey. Don't worry; we will return to the city of New Delhi for plenty of tours. Overnight stay and dinner in Udaipur.


Day 5 I Udaipur – City Tour – Flight to Udaipur

In the morning, according to the domestic flight schedule, we will tour the magnificent sites of Udaipur. Around noon, we will depart for the local airport for a domestic flight that will bring us to our next station in the journey: the city of Jodhpur, the Blue City. Jodhpur is located at the foothills of the Aravalli Range, boasting a beautiful central quarter dating back to the 15th century. It includes organized streets, impressive towers, and colorful markets. Here in Jodhpur, we will get to know the architectural gems that the city offers and spend another colorful evening in India. Overnight stay and dinner in Jodhpur.


Day 6 I Udaipur – Ranakpur – Jodhpur

This morning we'll have a nice breakfast at the tented hotel and head to one of the largest and most important Jain temples in India, the Ranakpur Jain Temple. Built in the 15th century, the temple is a significant prayer center for the Jain community, one of the major religions in India. The temple's ceiling is supported by 1444 pillars, each adorned with unique religious and artistic decorations. After exploring the mesmerizing Jain temple, we'll continue to explore the surroundings, discovering restaurants and other tourist attractions in Ranakpur. Our journey will then take us to the city of Jodhpur in Rajasthan, located at the foothills of the Aravalli Range. Jodhpur, also known as the Blue City, is renowned for its beautifully painted blue houses, impressive forts, and vibrant markets. Here, we'll explore the architectural gems the city has to offer and spend the night.


Day 7 I Jodhpur and its Sites – Pushkar

After breakfast, we'll continue our exploration of the second-largest city in Rajasthan, Jodhpur, often referred to as the Blue City due to the stunning blue-painted houses. We'll start our tour with a visit to Mehrangarh Fort, one of the most impressive structures in the city, perched atop a hill with breathtaking views of the blue city below. During the tour of the fort and its scenic viewpoint, we'll admire the marvelous architecture and then proceed to explore the Umaid Bhawan Palace, one of the magnificent palaces in India, showcasing the fascinating blend of Mughal and ancient Arabic architectural elements. After the insightful tour of Jodhpur, we'll head to our next destination in the state of Rajasthan, the beautiful city of Pushkar. Here, we'll enjoy the stunning sunset by Pushkar Lake and participate in a yoga session near the lake. We'll spend the night in Pushkar.


Day 8 I Pushkar and its Sites – Pink City Jaipur

Pushkar is a small but significant town, known for its pastoral beauty surrounding the lake, flanked by bathing ghats and adorned with splendid temples. The town serves as a vital center for pilgrims due to one of the three rare temples dedicated to the important Hindu deity, Lord Brahma. Our morning will begin with a visit to the lake, learning about its history, and strolling through the vibrant streets filled with local shops offering a rich variety of silver jewelry and local clothing. If possible, we may witness a local Pooja ceremony, an essential and integral part of Hindu life, guided by the Brahamin, the local religious figure. After exploring the city, we'll continue to our next destination, the Pink City, Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan. In the evening, we'll stand by the Pushkar Lake, enjoying the sunset and participating in a drumming workshop. Accommodation and dinner will be in Pushkar.


Days 9-10 I Jaipur

Two amazing days in the Jaipur region. In the morning, after breakfast, we'll set out to explore the city and its sites. We'll ride on elephants to the majestic Amber Fort, a fortress where the Maharajas resided before moving to the city. The fort is situated on a high hill above a lake and is a marvelous example of Rajput architecture. On one of the days, we'll visit the City Palace in the city and the unique star observatory, Jantar Mantar, built by Jai Singh. This is another highlight of our marvelous journey in the state of Rajasthan. From here, we'll pass by the Wind Palace (Hawa Mahal), considered one of the landmarks of Jaipur and a stunning example of Rajput artistry. The palace was built in 1799 to allow royal women to observe the activities on the main street. After the fascinating tours of the city, we'll stay overnight for two nights in the Jaipur region.


Day 11 I Jaipur – Stepwell – The Taj Mahal

Another wonderful day ahead: in the morning, we'll leave the Pink City and head south to the beautiful and famous city of Agra. On our way to the city, we'll visit the Stepwell, a well-known water source that served as a water and bathing place for the important Mughal military commander under the rule of Emperor Shah Jahan. From here, we'll continue to one of the most famous monuments in the world, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal. This breathtaking monument was built by Emperor Shah Jahan as a tribute to his beloved wife Mumtaz, who passed away at a young age during childbirth. The Taj Mahal beautifully reflects the precise architectural style of Mughal culture and is considered the most iconic symbol of love. After the tour of the Taj Mahal, we'll proceed to another impressive structure: Agra Fort, which serves as a backdrop to the sad story of the end of Emperor Shah Jahan's life, which you'll learn about during the journey. From this beautiful vantage point, we'll look out over Agra and its streets. We'll have dinner and spend the night in Agra.


Day 12 I Agra – Delhi

This morning, we'll leave Agra and embark on a journey across the vast expanse of India to reach the central hub of New Delhi. The opening day of the trip will be dedicated to the city of Delhi and its sites, where we'll get our first taste of the vibrant and fascinating colors, the splendor, the ancient traditions, and the captivating beliefs of Indian culture. During the tour, we'll enter the Jama Masjid, one of the oldest and most significant mosques in India. Here, in the red sandstone structure located in the heart of the old city, we'll explore the ancient Islamic architecture, hear about the existing religious tolerance in the city and the entire subcontinent, and be impressed by the impressive structure. After the mosque tour, we'll continue to wander through the various markets of the city and settle into the hotel where we'll spend the night.


Day 13 I Delhi and its Sites

Delhi is one of the most diverse cities in India, where we can observe great wealth alongside poverty, ancient architectural beauty next to old and neglected houses, rich Indian food to McDonald's and Domino's Pizza. There are numerous and fragrant markets with the aroma of spices and incense, warm and curious people, and a myriad of colors. In the city, the central government institutions of India are located - the Parliament and the offices of the central government, the Prime Minister's office, and the residence of all government and military personnel. After checking in at the hotel, we'll take a rickshaw tour of the old city and experience a different India than what we've seen so far. Dinner and accommodation will be in Delhi.


Day 14 I New Delhi 

A full day in New Delhi, where we'll continue to experience the city. We'll visit the main bazaar - one of the central markets and the place of backpackers in the city, where we'll buy gifts and clothes cheaply before the flight home. We'll continue to stroll through the main sites in the city. In the evening, after dinner, we'll head to the airport for the return flight.
