Over a quarter of the country's surface area is nature reserves and national parks, making it a popular destination worldwide for nature tourism. Costa Rica is regarded as the safest country in Central America (without a military since 1948), boasting the most advanced democracy and the highest quality of life. The country has a generally comfortable climate, with no clear seasons, and temperatures are consistently mild. The period in which we embark on this journey is the dry season, with minimal chances of rain.
